I didn’t really take any photos as I went through this so here are some musings on the process:

I grabbed a kinect v2, probably should have grabbed a V1.

Most of the issues I ran into was making it so that the sensor would track contours without a lot of noise. The depth sensor wasn’t doing a whole lot for me as it kept picking up a whole lot of noise that, no matter how much I changed the parameters, never resolved.

That prompted me to switch to using the IR blaster since it was easier to modify/track contours. That, along wth movement tracking, helped make the contours a lot less noisey.

I struggled a bit in that fine tuning.

The other biggest hurdle was honestly managing the connection to MaxMSP to get Midi data working in Live. Most of my time was spent troubleshooting data output there, as I had accomplished a successful connect for my last assignment, which kind of laid the groundwork for this project w osc.
